This is the place for music lovers. Many city centre bars
and pubs have a real commitment to new music and regularly
feature gigs by up and coming bands. This really is the
first port of call to discover the next big thing. Some
bars even offer members of the public the chance to get
up and take to the microphone, so if you have dreams of
being the next Jimi Hendrix take the opportunity to show
them what you're made of.
Every year Leeds plays host to The Carling Festival
which, along with it's twin in Reading, proves to be one
of the most exciting events in the musical calendar. From
Marilyn Manson to The Red Hot Chilli Peppers to Paul McCartney,
anybody who's anybody has graced the hallowed muddy feels
and strutted their stuff.

is based in Leeds and regularly showcases their latest
