Leeds
has an award-winning station. Leeds Station [map]
has undergone a £245 million redevelopment to modernise
the station and allow more and faster trains through.
Its location at City Square is central for the city centre
and all amenities. Key improvements include a new customer
information service, new roof, new passenger footbridge
and escalators to all platforms, and new shopping and
waiting area called The Wellington Quarter.
Leeds has local and national links to many cities. The
ticket office is in the ticket hall and is open 7 days
a week 24 hours a day.
Train details can be obtained from The Travel Centre,
which is located outside the main entrance and is open
on Monday-Saturday between 0800-2000, and on Sunday between
1000-1800. The Travel Centre enquiries can be made by
phone on: 08457 48 49 50, 24 hours.
The main short-stay car park is located outside
the North Concourse entrance, via Aire Street. This is
also the main pick up/drop off point for the station.
A new multi-deck car park is now open and boasts
modern parking technology and space for 312 vehicles.
A long-stay car park is at the rear, with access from
Aire Street. GNER executive car parking ticket holders
can park in the designated area.
The first class lounge is available to all first
class ticket holders and provides a relaxing environment,
with comfortable seating, writing areas, drinks and light
snacks, teletext television and fax facilities.
